A work in progress…

 

As the title implies, this piece is a work in progress. This is a graphic interpretation of an on going web series called Dominion. You can check out the site your self here. This page took me a day to start, but took me a few more days to touch up and put in the final touches due to collaboration between the creator and I. It’s a Detective story with a Supernatural feel to it, so it was done in black and white. Starting was a little rough because I haven’t done anything like this in years, but now that I’ve gotten back into I’m starting to enjoy the process and all the new experimenting I’m doing to achieve the look. Hopefully I can find the exact same enthusiasm when I restart my own project this month (fingers crossed). Any comments or queries are welcome, I would enjoy some feedback on the work that I’ve done. A Train Station

I started wordpress thing a while ago, but it seems I never have enough time to actually post any of my work. Being so busy at my job, and being so tired when I get home I find it hard to muster up the energy required to draw at all. However I decided that it was high time I stopped giving myself a lot of excuses and start a piece and commit to finishing it. I regret it every time that I don’t. So this is a piece I finished just today. Took me 3 days (the hours I have left after getting home from work) to do it but it’s completed. It’s a piece from a photograph in a book called “New York City: The Five Boroughs”. Did the conventional way, setting up a perspective grid and roughing out all the areas, then finally inking it with my Faber Castell pens. All in all I am satisfied with what I’ve done considering I haven’t attempted a perspective drawing of such detail in a VERY long time. Would love some feedback on this piece overall. All comments are welcome. I intend to post a lot more, so look forward to me updating this more often. I’m more of character artist, but I am always looking to challenge myself. Seems an appropriate title, since I am introducing myself to the world of the web. So what am I doing here? Letting people know who I am, and what I’m about. I’m a struggling artist with the hope of sharing my vision and stories to the world. A rather vague statement I know, but know better place for me to start. Basically I have been an illustrator for all my life, and have a need to share my art with a wider audience. Let’s see how I do. But this also a platform to share my story ideas as well. Maybe I can get some feedback on my art and story direction. Well, at the moment that is all I can of to say. So, without further ado, this is what I am all about. Thanx for checking my page out.
